The newest entry to the lottery community is the EuroJackpot. The EuroJackpt has an almost identical play style and prize structure to the EuroMillions and is created from the combined efforts of multiple European nations. As you would expect from a pan-European lottery game the EuroJackpot offers a massive cash jackpot every draw as well as multiple other great prizes. What sets the EuroJackpot aside from the EuroMillions are the dramatically improved odds of a jackpot win.

In fact the odds of winning the EuroJackpot top prize are almost twice as good as winning the EuroMillions top prize – 1 in 59,325,280 against 1 in 116,531,800. For such great odds the EuroJackpot also offers a €10,000,000 tax free prize every draw which can be won from almost anywhere in the world if you buy your ticket online!

History

The initial idea for the EuroJackpot was devised by the West German Lottery company who organise Lotto games in Germany. In September 2011 West German Lottery brought together a group of nations for meeting in Amsterdam to discuss the possibility of creating a second Pan-European lottery game to rival the EuroMillions. Agreements were reached to conduct the EuroJackpot and 6 months later on March 23rd the first EuroJackpot live draw was conducted in Helsinki. Currently the nations participating in the EuroJackpot are Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Slovenia, Finland, The Netherlands, Iceland, Sweden and Italy -where the game is especially popular.

How To Play

The EuroJackpot rules are nearly identical to those of the EuroMillions. As a simple lottery draw game players select numbers and match them against the results of the live draw to win cash prizes. When purchasing a EuroJackpot ticket you play by selecting 5 different numbers from a field of 1-50 and 2 different “Euro Numbers” from a field of 1-8. With your 5 main numbers and 2 Euro Numbers you have a EuroJackpot entry. You must then catch the draw which is held once each week on a Friday live in Helsinki at 00:45 – GMT +3 hours.

When the draw occurs 5 balls are randomly selected from 50 numbered balls in 1 machine. The 2 Euro Numbers are also randomly selected in this way. If you match all 5 main numbers and 2 Euro Numbers you choose with the numbers in the EuroJackpot result for that draw then you win the jackpot. Other great cash prizes can be won for matching fewer numbers.

Live Draw

Below is a video example of how the EuroJackpot live draw works.

Prizes

The EuroJackpot offer a wide range of generous cash prizes paid on a parimutuel basis from a prize fund created from a percentage of the ticket sales. Parimutuel prizes means that each player shares a percentage of the prize fund with other players in the same category -including the jackpot. Parimutuel prizes in a game usually mean that the more tickets are sold the bigger the prizes awarded and to more people.

Below is a complete table of all the winning EuroJackpot number matches, the percentage of the prize fund given and an average cash prize won by each player.

Main Numbers Euro Number Percentage Of Prize Fund Average Prize
5 2 22% Jackpot
5 1 5% €231,465
5 0 1.3% €57,684
4 2 1.2% €5,153
4 1 0.95% €245.13

3 2 0.85% €57.60
3 1 4.1% €20.73
2 2 3.45% €15.78
3 0 3.6% €14.08
1 2 12% €10.25
2 1 22.95% €7.73

You will notice that the prize percentages only add up to a total of 78%. The remaining 22% of the prize fund is put aside for the EuroJackpot boosterfund. This booster fund is used to make sure that the €10,000,000 jackpot minimum can always be awarded to winners regardless of ticket sales.

Odds

As with all multi-prize lotto games the EuroJackpot has different chances of winning in each prize category. It is noteworthy to point out that the EuroJackpot has far superior jackpot winning odds for its €10,000,000 minimum prize compared to any other lottery that offers huge multi-million jackpots.

Italy’s national lottery game of choice is the Super EnaLotto. This big jackpot game is famous all over the world for providing some of the biggest cash prizes of any national lottery of comparable size. What also makes the Super EnaLotto so popular is the various different ways it can be played, and the extra games to be enjoyed such as the Super EnaLotto SuperStar and the SiVince Tutto.

With Super EnaLotto live draws held 3 times each week the rollover jackpots quickly reach enormous amounts. Such huge jackpots have given the game demand outside of Italy and online ticket sales increase every day as more and more people from all over the world their their chance at the Super EnaLotto millions.

History

The history of the Super EnaLotto begins in 1950 with the creation of the EnaLotto Italian national lottery game. This game was created for everyone all over Italy to enjoy and it would offer bigger prizes than the smaller regional Lottomatica lottery games operating at the time. In April 1996 the Italian Minister for Finance handed control of the game over to private Italian betting company, SISAL. SISAL saved the EnaLotto from falling sales and popularity by restructuring the game and renaming it the Super EnaLotto upon their takeover.

Both the EnaLotto and Super EnaLotto operated with a small flaw in their odds of winning which was not corrected until 2009. Previous to this the numbers used for the Super EnaLotto result were taken from a combination of numbers already draw in the 7 smaller Lottomatica regional draws in Florence, Naples, Palermo, Rome, Milan, Bari and the Jolly Number coming from Venice. The first number of each regional draws result was used as an EnaLotto/Super EnaLotto number. If the first number of any region had already been used for the Super EnaLotto result then the next number was used. This system created a statistically tiny possibility that a draw could be impossible to win in the event of an unavoidable duplicate number. Thankfully the rule change on July 1st 2009 which created a fresh draw dedicated to the Super EnaLotto fixed this small problem.

How To Play

Aside from the huge jackpots one of the other contributing factors to the Super EnaLotto is the unique and varied ways in which it can be played. When purchasing a ticket you can actually play in such a way that increases your chances of winning a prize, helping you to beat the Super EnaLotto odds. A simple standard Super EnaLotto entry consists of 6 different numbers that the player chooses from 1-90, beyond this however a player may choose to select 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 numbers and purchase a separate entry for each different combination of 6 numbers that can be made from the numbers you chose. For example pick 7 numbers and you must buy 7 entries, select 8 numbers and you must buy 28 entries.

This is true for playing online, however when purchasing a Super EnaLotto ticket from a retailer direct in Italy you may select as many numbers as you wish -provided you can buy an entry for each possible combination of 6. The Super EnaLotto also contains additional games known as the Super EnaLotto Superstar and the SiVinceTutto which are explained in those links.

Once you have purchased your Super EnaLotto entry online you must catch the relevant draw. Super EnaLotto live draws are held three times each week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 19:00 GMT. During the Super EnaLotto live draw the 6 numbers are chosen at random from a machine containing 90 numbered balls, in addition a 7th “Jolly Number” is also chosen at random from those 90. The Jolly Number helps players who only matched 5 main numbers win a second place prize.

Match numbers from your ticket with the results to win cash prizes, match all 6 numbers to win the Super EnaLotto jackpot prize!

Live Draw

Below is an example of a Super EnaLotto live draw held in Italian

Super EnaLotto Prizes

The Super EnaLotto has 5 different prize categories that are won on a parimutuel basis. This means that prizes are a percentage of the prize fund and the prize fund is created from the percentage of the ticket sales that is set aside to be given back to the players as prizes. Players winning in each category share the prize fund percentage with other winners of the same category. The percentages given for each prize category are balanced against the average amount of winners in that category to ensure that the more numbers you match the bigger the cash prize you win -regardless of how many people you share the prize with.

The distribution of Super EnaLotto ticket sale money is as follows: 34.648% is used for the prize fund, 53.6% to the government which is used to improve social conditions in Italy, 8% to the retailers selling the tickets and 3.7% to SISAL in profits for running the game.

Want to know how much your Super EnaLotto numbers are worth? Below is a table showing the percentage of the prize fund given for each winning number match, as well as an average cash prize for that category.

Numbers Matched Percentage Of Prize Fund Average Cash Prize
6 20% Jackpot
5 + Jolly Number 20% €469,356
5 15% €81,969
4 15% €324.97
3 30% €17.50

Super EnaLotto Odds

The chance to win the Super EnaLotto depends on which prize category you are winning in, of which there are 5 in total. While the Super EnaLotto jackpot odds are among the highest in the world this is countered by the low ticket cost and the ability to improve your chances to win the Super EnaLotto dramatically by choosing a systems entry with more than 6 numbers (as explained above).

Unusually the Super EnaLotto offers the best odds for its 3rd prize category which are extremely competitive VS any other national lottery game offering a similar cash prize.

Below is a complete table of Super EnaLotto winning number matches and the cash prize for each.

5 + Jolly Number 1 in 103,769,105

Alongside the Powerball the MegaMillions is a hugely popular mult-state lottery that has gained worldwide notoriety for having distributed the largest lottery prize in the history of the world -€375,883,200. As the MegaMillions has become prolific for its mega jackpots trusted agents have begun to offer MegaMillions tickets online to players from outside of the U.S.A.

Twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays the MegaMillion’s draw time is 22:59 EST -3:59 GMT. Draws being held twice a week helps rollover jackpots quickly hit astronomical amounts!

History

On August 31st 1996 a lottery known as “The Big Game” was created that would soon become the game we know today as the MegaMillions lotto. In the beginning the Big Game was available only to players in Virginia, Massachusetts, Maryland Georgia, Illinois and Michigan. In January 1999 the option to take jackpot prizes as a cash lump sum was introduced (as previously only a 26 year annuity was available) and New Jersey joined the game.

As the years passed and the Big Game continued to grow in popularity it soon became available in available in the states of New York and Ohio when it changed it’s name to “The Big Game MegaMillions”. Shortly after this would be known just as the MegaMillions -as we know it today. The enormous multi-state game we have in 2012 however began in 2010 during the MegaMillions/Powerball cross sell expansion. Over the course of 2010 the MegaMillions was introduced to 31 new States alongside the Powerball. It wasn’t until 2011 that Louisiana started selling MegaMillion’s tickets.

Without a doubt the strength of the MegaMillions is in its high jackpots, and these enormous MegaMillion’s prizes would not be possible without the huge number of players allowed by selling tickets all over America. The strength of the game was proven on Friday 30th March 2012 when the worlds largest lottery prize of €375,883,200 was won in a lump sum and divided between three winning ticket holders from Kansas, Maryland and Illinois.

How To Play

The MegaMillions is a simple lottery draw game with players matching the numbers they select with the numbers drawn randomly to win prizes. When you purchase a MegaMillion’s ticket you must select 5 different numbers from 1-56 and 1 number (the MegaBall) from 1-46. These six numbers make up one MegaMillion’s entry. The draws occur twice each week on Tuesdays and Fridys at 22:59 EST (3:59 GMT). During the MegaMillions live draw one machine randomly selects 5 numbered white balls from 56, a second machine them randomly selects 1 numbered gold coloured ball from 46.

When the MegaMillion’s numbers are drawn the object of the game is to match them against the numbers on your ticket. The more numbers you match the bigger the cash prize you will win. Match all 5 numbers and the MegaBall and the MegaMillion’s jackpot (minimum €9 million/12 million) is yours.

Other cash prizes can be won for matching fewer numbers and are all fixed amounts. Check out our MegaMillions prizes section for more information.

The minimum age to buy a MegaMillion’s ticket is 18 in most states, except in Iowa, Arizona and Louisiana where you must be at least 21 to play and 19 in Nebraska. To buy a MegaMillions ticket online from outside of the U.S.A you must be at least 18 years old.

Also available when you purchase your MegaMillions ticket is the MegaPlier option. With the MegaPlier you pay a little extra on your ticket cost to multiply the cash prize in any non-jackpot win. The amount your prize is multiplied by is determined randomly between x2, x3 and x4 by selecting a multiplier at random from a machine containing 21 balls with the multiplier number written on them. Below is a table showing how many of each multiplier ball is available and thus the odds of each multiplier being chosen.

Multiplier Number/Odds
x2 2:21 (9.5%)
x3 7:21 (33.3%)
x4 12:21 (55.1%)

One of the longest running and most firmly established multi-state lottery games in America is the Powerball. It runs alongside the MegaMillions and is sold in almost every state. Without a doubt the Powerball owes its worldwide renown to the enormous rollover jackpots. Whether it’s the minimum jackpot prize each draw of a guaranteed €32 million, or maybe it’s that a cash prize is won for matching just one number (the Powerball), this game is highly desired by lottery players outside of the U.S.A who purchase their tickets online everyday.

What is more than likely is that the huge Powerball ticket sales online occur because of the massive rollover jackpots that quickly build up with draws held twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 03:59 GMT -22:59 EST local American time. The largest of which amounted to a Powerball jackpot of over €270 million.

History

The Powerball lottery traces its roots back to 1988 when the game was known as Lotto*America. This game was originally played in only 6 states; Iowa, Kansas, West Virginia, Rhode Island, the District Of Colombia and Oregon. Its first draw was held in February 1988 and the game was at the time just a simple 7/40 game (players picked 6 different numbers from 40), this bucked the trend of the popularity in pick 6 games the time. As the years went by Lotto*America with its jackpot winning odds of 1 in 18 million soon grew in popularity and more States sold tickets of the game in the following order; Wisconsin (August 1989), Montana (November 1989), Idaho (February 1990), Maine (July 1990), Minnesota (August 1990), Indiana (October 1990), South Dakota (November 1990), Kentucky (January 1991), Delaware (January 1991).

With the rapid growth of Lotto*America some changes were definitely in order and in 1992 the game changed dramatically and became known as the Powerball. This new Powerball game held its first draw in April 1992. The major rule change was in the inclusion of the Powerball, this made players choose 1 additional number from a separate pool but also made it possible for players to win a cash prize for matching that number alone! The rule changes also created more prize categories and lower overall odds of winning any cash prize. This helped make the new Powerball game an instant hit with players in America. Prior to 1997 Lotto*America and Powerball jackpots could not be won as cash prizes, instead only the annuity option of the jackpot paid annually over 20 years was available. Of course this changed in 1997 when the Powerball lottery offered all of its jackpotas as a cash option and increased the annuity period to 25 years, this recently became 30 years.

The Powerball was sold in several nations and the MegaMillions sold in several others, however on the 3rd of January 2010 a huge cross-sell expansion saw Powerball tickets being sold in MegaMillion’s states and vice versa. This means that currently the Powerball is played in a total of 43 American States. With this enormous expansion in Powerball ticket sales the game has grown to be one of the most popular in the world with tickets being sold to players outside of the U.S.A via the internet.

How To Play

The modern Powerball game is designed to be both simple to play while offering many different Powerball prize winning chances. When you purchase your ticket you must select 5 different numbers from 1-59 and 1 number -the Powerball- from 1-35. These 6 different numbers make one Powerball entry. Once you have a ticket simply wait for the draw you purchased the ticket for, draws occur twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 22:59 EST -3:39 GMT

When the draw occurs 1 machine randomizes 59 white numbered balls and dispenses 5 of them -completely at random. It then dispenses 1 ball (the Powerball) at random from a second machine containing 35 numbered red balls. The ultimate object of the game is to match all 5 of your main numbers and your Powerball with all the numbers drawn to win the Powerball jackpot prize. Prizes can be won for other number matches though, and a cash prize is even won for matching just the Powerball on its own. Naturally the more numbers you match the higher the cash prize you win.

The minimum Powerball jackpot is just over €32 million ($40 million), however in any draw in which this prize is not won its value “rolls over” to the next draw where the jackpot is bigger. Unlike the EuroMillions there is no jackpot maximum so it will continue to grow in this way if not won.

When purchasing a Powerball ticket both in the U.S.A and from abroad online you must be at least 18 years of age.

When purchasing a Powerball ticket both within the U.S.A or from abroad online you can pay a little extra per number selection for the Powerplay option. The Powerplay option multiplies any non-jackpot prizes as outlined in the Powerball Prizes section.

One of the single most popular games of lottery in the world the EuroMillions boasts the highest cash jackpots ever won, competitive odds, an excellent prize structure and all on a classic play format. Created by the combined strength of multiple EU nations this number draw game has gathered steam over the years to gain popularity outside of its host nations. This is the most popular game for people to play online and its cash prizes can be won from almost anywhere in the world.

EuroMillion’s draws are held twice every week by the Francais De Jeux every Tuesday and Saturday live at 20:30 GMT. With twice weekly drawings the guaranteed minimum jackpot of €15,000,000 each draw quickly rolls over to make huge prize amounts.

The reason for such high prize values in this game is due to the nine participating host nations which are as follows: the UK, Spain, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Luxembourg.

History

While the initial concept for a multi-national lottery game was devised by the Francais De Jeux in 1994, the actual birth of the game (and its first draw) did not occur until Friday 13th February 2004. The Francais De Jeux created the EuroMillions in an effort to create a lottery game which had prizes rivalling the multi-state MegaMillions game. With multiple nations selling tickets the prize funds would naturally be larger thus larger jackpot prizes could be offered. In addition to this the Francais De Jeux had also hoped to launch the game at the same time as the multi-national European currency; The Euro.

Tickets originally went on sale only in the UK, France and Spain, when the game was consigned to just one draw a week on Fridays. Within 8 months however (in October 2004) a further 6 nations had agreed to sell EuroMillions tickets. The EuroMillions may have been the brainchild of the Francais De Jeux however it was up to the lottery organisers within the individual host nations to promote the game, organise ticket sales and assure the payment of all winnings.

With the addition of the 6 new nations in October 2004 (and in light of rapidly growing ticket sales) the EuroMillions added a second Friday draw which would help to create enormous rollover jackpots even faster. The only other change to the game came on Tuesday May 10th 2009 when the pool of Lucky Stars changed from 9 to 11.

The biggest winners in EuroMillion’s history are Colin and Christine Weir, a couple from Largs Scotland, who back in July 12th 2011 won a jackpot worth €185,000,000. Since their big win the couple have generously donated to many good causes. The next biggest EuroMillion’s jackpot of €183,000,000 was actually shared among 20 individual winners; the jackpot had rolled over 11 times consecutively and on the 12th draw the prize was “rolled down”, meaning that players in the second place category divided the prize among themselves.

How To Play

Currently the rules of the EuroMillions are that of a standard lottery draw game. Players must select 5 different “main” numbers from a field of 1-50 and 2 different “Lucky Stars” from a field of 1-11 The EuroMillion’s draws are held twice weekly on Tuesday’s and Friday’s at 21:30 GMT. The object of the game is to match as many of the numbers on your ticket with the numbers from the draw. The more numbers you match the bigger the cash prize you win. Match all 5 numbers and both Lucky Stars to win the EuroMillion’s jackpot -minimum guaranteed €15,000,000 every draw.
In any draw in which the jackpot is not won, its value in the prize fund is “rolled over” and added to the size of the next jackpot. With twice weekly drawings it’s not uncommon for the EuroMillion’s jackpot to quickly break the €100 million mark, and then ticket sales start to dramatically increase.

The maximuim EuroMillion’s prize is €190,000,000, meaning that the jackpot can only rollover 11 times consecutively. On the 12th consecutive draw without a jackpot winner the prize is “rolled down”, this means that players in the second place prize category receive the jackpot. If there are no jackpot winners and no winners in the second place prize category then the prize is distributed to winners in the third place prize category. On the 12th consecutive EuroMillion’s draw without a winner the prize, essentially, must be given back to the winners.

The legal age to play the EuroMillion’s varies from country to country. Within the UK 16 is the minimuim age. When playing the EuroMillions online you must be at least 18 years or older to enter the EuroMillions.

Live Draw

Below is an example of a EuroMillions live draw as held by the Francais De Jeux.

Prizes

The EuroMillions lotto offers you more chances to win prizes than in any other lottery game. EuroMillion’s prizes are divided across 13 different prize categories including the jackpot. The prizes are parimutuel, this means that each winning category receives a percentage of the prize fund. The size of the prize fund is dictated by the amount of money taken in ticket sales and winners in each category share the amount of the prize fund given for that category.

The percentage given to each EuroMillions prize category is balanced as best it can be VS the average amount of winners in that category to try to ensure that the more numbers you match the bigger the prize you receive.

As one of the most generous lotto games in the world the EuroMillions lotto returns a full 50% of all money taken in tickets to the prize fund for players. 28% of EuroMillion’s ticket sales are then given to good causes within the host nation. 12% of EuroMillion’s money is given to the government of the respective nation in “duty” taxes. EuroMillion’s retailers make 5% of each ticket sale in profit. 4.5% of the ticket sale money is used to operate and promote the game and finally just 0.5% is taken by the respective lottery organiser in the EuroMillions host nation for profit.

Below is a complete table of all the prizes that can be won in the EuroMillions. We include the percentage of the prize fund given in each different prize category as well as an average cash value of that EuroMillion’s prize.

Numbers MatchedLucky StarsPercentage Of Prize FundAverage Cash Prize

5 2 32% Jackpot Minimum €15,000,000
5 1 4.8% €435,229
5 0 1.6% €59,893
4 2 0.8% €4259
4 1 0.7% €185

3 0 3.7% €10
1 2 6.5% €9
2 1 17.6% €6

Brazil’s Dupla Sena Lotto is follows the Mega Sena closely in terms of popularity in Brazil. While slightly less well known worldwide this game is still played online by people from countries outside of Brazil. What gives the Dupla Sena its edge over other Brazilian lottery games are the far improved chances of winning: you’re more than twice as likely to match all the Dupla Sena numbers as you are the Mega Sena numbers.

The Dupla Sena is also rather unique in that it offers players two separate lots of numbers to match in each draw. This game is a must for smart players that like easy winning odds and multiple chances to win.

The Dupla Sena draw time is 20:00 GMT every Tuesday and Friday. Dupla Sena tickets can be purchased online up to 2 hours before the draw is held.

When the draw begins two different sets of 6 numbers are drawn. Both of these sets of numbers can be used to win prizes. Match 4, 5 or 6 numbers from one set or the other to win cash prizes.

There is no prize won for matching 4/5 or 6 numbers across two sets I.E the match 4, 5 or 6 prizes are only awarded when you match 4, 5 or 6 numbers from one set. This system of play makes the Dupla Sena odds some of the most favourable in the world for any jackpot lottery.

Matching all 6 numbers wins a Dupla Sena Jackpot. In any draw where the jackpot is not won its prize value is held and added to the next Dupla Sena jackpot. To play the Dupla Sena in Brazil and online players must be at least 18 years of age.

The prize fund is made up of 45% of the total amount of money taken in ticket sales.

Below you will find a list of all possible Duple Sena prize categories, the percentage of the prize fund dedicated to each, and an average prize players can expect to receive. There are two Dupla Sena prize breakdowns in accordance with the two sets of numbers given in each Dupla Sena draw.
